It is really easy to get lost when you are writing something as vague and as perspective-oriented as an essay about yourself. People tend to choose a number of themes of who they are and try to describe them all. That would be very confusing for the reader. Not to mention that it would be hard to write and navigate in between those themes.

I still believe that I have a fear of letting people down and this makes me the selfless person that I am today. Sometimes I cannot help myself when I put others before myself. Other times, I just care about myself and it feels good to not worry about other people because in the end all I have is myself but all in all, I cannot let it go.

But when fears become so severe that they cause tremendous anxiety and interfere with your normal life, they’re called phobias. A phobia is an intense fear of something that, in reality, poses little.
The traits we tend to dislike in others are usually the traits we do not like about ourselves. We then tend to judge and criticize these characteristics. This calls to mind the analogy of pointing a blaming finger at someone. One finger is pointing at another person, and three are pointing back to ourselves.
Maybe its paranoia, maybe something else. I am suspicious of people talking about me or staring at me. My paranoia comes from so may more terrifying things. I am afraid of almost anything and it seems that the list gets longer everyday. I am scared of the dark, I am scared of closets being open, afraid of something sneaking into my house.
